Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. The host of her show is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of food in restaurants and shares straightforward, simple techniques to master to the home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was also employed in many of New York's best restaurants, studied Italian cuisine along with its traditional recipes, and participated in Food Network Iron Chef America. When she was growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from very young. Her passion was for the industry of restaurant management by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after earning a degree in English and communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute of America student. I enjoyed every moment." I couldn't learn or learn enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. During her time in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the concept behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that left a lasting impact on her culinary perspective. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. Her travels are frequent across the country in her role as a mentor, and also a an invited speaker, where she talks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne says during her time in the culinary field she's extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to communicate with people what is really important to her.
