Markie Post

Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She began her career as a film and TV producer, with projects like "The New Card Sharks", (1978), and "Card Sharks," (1986). Post produced projects such as Double Dare (1976), and was a guest on numerous TV shows like E! True Hollywood Story (1996), Electra Woman (2001), and Dyna Girl (2001). Perhaps her most famous TV part was "Christine Sullivan" on Night Court (1984). The actress was on the show's 156 episodes between 1984 and 1992. Marylee (Armstrong) Post was her mother. She is an accomplished poet and nuclear scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7, 2015). There were two daughters she had with her second husband Michael A. Ross: Katie Ross (born June 26 1987) and Daisy Ross (born March 30 in 1990). Born in Palo Alto in California and was raised in Walnut Creek. As a cheerleader, she attended Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at Lewis & Clark College, Portland Oregon. She was a trickroper in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). The ashes of her were returned to Michael A. Ross, her husband. She was a long-time Democrat. Markie Post passed away on August 7, 2021. She was three months from what would be her 71st birthday on November 4. Her death occurred 27 days after fellow Night Court (1984) co-star Charles Robinson, who passed away on July 11, 2021. Although the two shows were not connected, Night Court (1984) was a finale that saw Christine Sullivan's character moving to Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992) started with Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in Hearts Afire (1992), and later she moved to a small community after her stint in Washington DC.
